Background

The professional experience of Ginny Rodgers, five-time media award winner, encompasses a wide array of talents during the course of 20 years in the communications industry. She brings her strong business management background, talent and creativity evolving first from her experience as a freelance production manager, video editor, unit manager, post production supervisor and teacher of the Masters Courses in Communication at American University in Washington, DC. She went on to secure the position of manager of a DC post production house. Next, Ginny co-founded Frank Litz and Associates, Inc., a broadcast maintenance and engineering design firm and held the position of vice president where she organized the financial structure and business management systems, accounting systems procedures, contract negotiations, and client development and relations.

With a solid background in production technology and business management, in 1986, she founded Farragut North Productions, Inc., a full-service production facility in Washington. As a result of high standard performance, a client base was developed throughout the nation. As President and Executive Producer for Farragut North Productions, her responsibilities included client development, budgeting, contract negotiations, and implementation: producing, writing, directing and editing for a broad client base ranging from advertising agencies, private business, non-profit organizations, cable television, and the federal government. Topics and issues include homelessness in America, mental health care for the elderly, Vietnam Veterans, the impact of worldwide disasters such as earthquakes, floods and famine, national education issues, and promotional and fund raising video projects. Formats include both video and 35mm film.

In 1996, she formerly changed the name of her original production company to Brightside Communications Corporation which is registered with the US Patent and Trade Mark Office.

In January 1999, Ginny made the decision to transition from the production arena and accepted opportunities that would make use of both her business and production background at the American Preventive Medical Association as Director of Operations and Acting Membership Director and to also serve as Executive Director of Women in Film and Video.

She continues to expand her knowledge of health care options and is currently working on the pilot for a program series on complementary and alternative medicine: (working title) Your Health -- What Your Doctor May Not Know.

Ginny's special knowledge of health leans toward women and hormones, and pet health.
